Square Enix’s latest live service titleBabylon’s Fallisn’t performing as well as some at the company may have hoped. There was a bit of hype behind this game at first, being a joint collaboration with acclaimed action game studio Platinum Games, which has hit titles such asMetal Gear Rising: Revengeance,Bayonetta, andNier: Automata.Babylon’s Fallcombatis even based onNier: Automata’s, both of them having similar hack-and-slash action-RPG gameplay. Upon the game’s release, however,Babylon’s Fallhas seen very little fanfare.

Babylon’s Fallwas savaged by reviewers and fans, with many of the scores given to the game being on the lower end of the spectrum. Some of the issues that players had with the game included its structure and progression system, though praise was given to the combat gameplay.Babylon’s Fallrough PC launchalso contributed to its unenthusiastic reception, with less than 1000 concurrent players. Those numbers continue to dwindle, reaching a new all-time low this week.

According to the website Steam Charts,Babylon’s Fallusually has roughly 85 players playing every day. This is a big drop from its average when the game launched in March, which had barely over 200 concurrent players. The website reveals at some point on May 3, only one player was playing the game. This beats the last reported low for the game, as sometime in April,Babylon’s Fallhad less than 10 concurrent playersplaying at that time.

When this statistic became known, the sole player ofBabylon’s Fallrevealed himself in a tongue-in-cheek manner, known as dashiellwood on Twitter. He even noted the timestamp of when he was playing the game, and even humorously included the title of “World’s Only Babylon’s Fall player” in his Twitter bio.

Despite how much the game has flopped, Square Enix had promisedtwo more seasons of content forBabylon’s Fall, which brings a new game mode to the mix as well as continuous updates. While this is intended to bring in new players and keep the current ones, the number of players who are still playing the game have drastically gone down. The peak of concurrent players that the game had been at barely over 1000, with the peak in the last 30 days being at slightly over 200. With the player base dwindling this much, it’s not likely thatBabylon’s Fallwill be able to turn itself around.

Babylon’s Fallis available now for PC, PS4, and PS5.
