Now, Windows Central’s Jez Corden has revealed thatAvowedrecently moved to Unreal Engine 5.3 and that the developer behind theGearsseries, The Coalition, will support the game’s development. The Coalition is knowledgeable about UE, helping other projects such asState of Decay 3before, so it’s likely that the studio’s support will be focused on the technical aspects of porting the game to the new engine.
Avowedwill be among the major Xbox releases of 2024. The game puts the player in the shoes of an envoy from the Aedyr Empire who is investigating a mysterious plague in a frontier region. Players will be able to create a human or an elf and use several weapons, suiting different playstyles. It was also reported that despite the game having no romance options,players will be able to recruit several companions inAvowed. The title will also have impactful dialogue choices that could matter in pivotal moments of the narrative.
Avowed’s Release Date Could Be Unveiled Soon
Avowedwill probably appear atthe upcoming Xbox Showcase, which will happen on June 9. During the event,Avowedwill likely get an official release date, and fans will also potentially be able to learn more about other upcoming games such asIndiana Jones and the Great Circle,Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, andStarfield’s Shattered Space DLC.
WhileAvowedstill does not have an official release date, there’s plenty of speculation about when the game will be launched, as Obsidian Entertainment has already revealed that the title will be out in Fall 2024. Considering Obsidian’s previous releases such asFallout: New VegasandThe Outer Worlds, however, it is possible that the RPG will be released in late October or early November, which is a traditional release window for the company.
