With a little over two weeks left beforeApex LegendsSeason 13 comes to an end, Respawn Entertainment is building up fan excitement for the next season. With Respawn’s sight fixed on the future, theApex LegendsTwitter account looked to the past to give players insight into the backstory of its potential newest Legend.Apex Legendstook the battle royale scene by surprise when Respawn released the title with zero marketing back in 2019. Despite being a shooter and battle royale game first,ApexLegendhas made a name for itself due to a heavy focus on world-building and storytelling through its characters who sharethe same universe as the belovedTitanfallseries.RELATED:Apex Legends Clip is a Reminder Why Random Players Shouldn’t Be Trusted with the DropThe officialApexLegendsTwitter account posted what looks to be a few dairy entries with the caption, “You’ve got to keep yourself busy when you’re one of the only two people on the planet.” Over the course of two months, an unnamed character chronicles their experience on said planet with their mother. From their experiences hunting to wishing there were more people on the planet to interact with, the owner of the diary speaks about how hunting has helped them grow while tugging on the heartstrings with a hello to their mother.
The end of the diary entries reveals the character has been talking to their gun while exploring the desolate planet and a drawing shows what appears to be a cartoon sketch of the writer. Some fans were quick to point out that this character could possibly beVantage, one of the nine Legends who were part of a massive leak back in March.
When the leak sprung back in March during Season 12, many were quick to question its accuracy. It soon became very apparent how accurate it was as Season 13 introduced Newcastle, who was part of the leak. The leak also shared character abilities, and if it continues to be proven accurate, it points toVantage being a recon-based characterwho uses her sniper rifle for gathering information on opponents' vitals. Vantage would also have a companion drone named Echo, who presumably would work in a similar function to Crypto’s drone.
New character hype aside,Apex Legendsand Respawn face a bumpy road ahead. With Season 13 scheduled to end in August, the community is organizing their own season of protesting known as “No Apex August” as they seek changes and fixes to the game’s technical state. It’ll only be a matter of time before players see what the newest season brings alongside the possible new Legend Vantage, with some fans hoping for more than just a new character and battle pass to make a debut in Season 14.
Apex Legendsis available now on Mobile, PC, PS4, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
